    • The FSSC 22000 certification reinforces our commitment to food safety.
    • Its focus on continuous improvement ensures consistent quality from day one.
    • It is also recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), granting it global acceptance as a standard among buyers, retailers, and manufacturers.

At Nobazul, quality is more than a promise, it is a commitment backed by international standards.

That is why our Blue Agave Syrup production process is certified under the FSSC 22000 standard, an internationally recognized certification that confirms our production process fully complies with the highest food safety standards.

This certification not only validates the safety of our product but also attests to the strength of our entire management system,  from the reception of Blue Agave to the packaging of our syrup.

FSSC 22000 enables us to ensure that Nobazul’s Agave Syrup is produced under strict sanitary controls, with preventive programs designed to minimize any risk of physical, chemical, or microbiological contamination. The result is a safe, reliable, and consistent product that meets the demands of even the most rigorous markets, both in Mexico and abroad.

What is FSSC 22000?

The FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification) is the world’s leading food safety management system, with over 15 years in the market. It is designed to ensure that organizations across the entire food supply chain — including their respective supply networks — operate under controlled and well-documented processes.

As a comprehensive system, it integrates multiple standards:

  • ISO 22000, which serves as the core of the management system and incorporates HACCP principles;
  • ISO/TS 22002, a technical standard outlining sector-specific prerequisite programs (PRPs); and
  • FSSC-specific additional requirements, ensuring alignment with GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) benchmarks.

FSSC 22000 is globally recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), granting it worldwide acceptance among food manufacturers, retailers, and buyers.

What are the advantages of FSSC 22000 certification?

International recognition and global market access: FSSC 22000 is accepted by major manufacturers and global retail chains, enabling Nobazul to integrate into international supply chains and meet the expectations of multinational clients.

Systematic and effective management of food safety risks: The certification requires implementation of a structured management system based on HACCP principles, well-defined PRPs, and ongoing performance evaluations. At Nobazul, this ensures hazard control from raw material reception to final product delivery.

Integration with other management systems: FSSC 22000 follows ISO’s High-Level Structure (Annex SL), facilitating integration with other standards such as ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment), and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety), among others.

Continuous improvement, customer trust, and brand loyalty: With a focus on system-based audits (rather than checklist-only reviews) and continuous improvement, the certification reinforces trust and boosts Nobazul’s reputation, ensuring consistent food safety and quality from the date of certification onward.

Compliance with international regulations: FSSC 22000 aligns with regulations such as the U.S. Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), offering a framework that supports regulatory compliance for exports and preventive controls.

How does FSSC 22000 help ensure food safety?

This is achieved through a structured system based on internationally recognized standards. At the core of FSSC 22000 is its Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS), grounded in ISO 22000. This system requires a solid framework that includes clear policies, defined objectives, designated responsibilities, effective communication along the supply chain, strict document control, regular performance evaluations, and systematic management reviews.

Complementing this are Prerequisite Programs (PRPs) — operational practices and hygiene conditions essential for maintaining a safe environment. These include sanitation, pest control, equipment calibration, input traceability, staff training, and other preventive measures that form a critical barrier against contamination.

Another key pillar is the HACCP approach (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). This methodology identifies potential hazards throughout the production chain, defines critical control points, sets acceptable limits, designs monitoring plans, implements corrective actions, and maintains ongoing verification supported by precise technical documentation. The current version also requires establishing controls to monitor quality parameters across processes, products, and services.

Certified organizations, including Nobazul, must also undergo integrated audits with a process-based approach. These audits go beyond checklists to evaluate the actual effectiveness of the management system, reviewing procedures, records, operational evidence, and results. Non-conformities are addressed with specific corrective actions and follow-up evaluations.

Additionally, FSSC 22000 includes a set of supplemental requirements that further strengthen food safety. These include food fraud prevention, food defense (protection against intentional threats), comprehensive allergen control, fostering a culture of quality, and environmental monitoring to prevent external contamination, among others.

FSSC 22000: The certification that sets Nobazul apart.

One of the greatest benefits of holding the FSSC 22000 certification at Nobazul —covering our processes for Blue Agave Syrup, partially hydrolyzed Agave Syrup, and liquid Agave Fructans— is that it reinforces our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement. Regular reviews of our procedures, internal and external audits, staff training, and full traceability result in an efficient company prepared to anticipate challenges in the food sector and respond with transparency and agility.

Thanks to this certification, we participate in global supply chains and meet regulatory requirements in regions such as Asia, the United States, and the European Union, giving our clients peace of mind that they are choosing an authentic, natural, and carefully crafted product.

At Nobazul, we strive every day to ensure that our processes honor the nobility of the agave plant and the trust of our customers. The support of FSSC 22000 certification strengthens our mission: to deliver Agave Syrup with traceability, responsible production, and quality in every product, for every customer.
